    Lightbulb Ricoh MPC4000 Dead screen

    Hi Guys

I've got a Ricoh MPC4000 with a dead screen, if you look close there is an image on the screen just not lit up I think it says sc202 but tough to see and couldn't find sc code in the service manual either. I have tried replacing:
    Controller
    BICU
    Main Power
    and a complete control panel
none of these have had any effect on the dead scree, any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You need to replace the polygon mirror motor in the Laser Unit Part# AX06 0396. That should take care of it.

This has been covered in other threads. A bad polygon mirror motor can take out the BICU. Replace the polygon mirror motor motor and the BICU. Since you have already replaced the BICU, you may have to replace it again. If you can find the other threads on this subject, one of them has a possible component level repair of the BICU.

Blee typed faster than I did.

As has already been said, polygon mirror motor takes out the BICU, I always replace as a pair, if you replace the BICU before the polygon mirror motor, chances are you have fried a second BICU

Not the laser unit, the polygon mirror motor.

Agreed with all, replace the polygonnal mirror motor and the BICU at the same time. Check your ground wire between the duplex unit and the mc body earth isnt broken after youve done the above, as this will also cause you no end of problems

I knew it was in a thread somewhere. Just didn't feel like going and finding it.
