Ricoh MP3500 - How to clear an internal print (take 2)

Sorry for second posting, but my first thread seems goofed up to me.

We have a customer who has an old Ricoh Aficio MP3500, which they use to scan to one network and nothing else. It does not pass paper and they do not want it fixed (they replaced it with a Sharp from us). Their IT won't let us set up the scan folder on their new Sharp, so they need to scan from this machine still.

Someone decided to print the Scan Log. The copier can't pass paper and jams. If they remove the jam and all paper from the machine, the copier asks them to load paper when they press the Scanner button and they are unable to scan. We need to clear this internal print.

I tried unplugging the copier and waiting five minutes, but it retains the print job and tries print it after boot-up.

I tried clearing the print job from the Printer menu, but it doesn't appear as a print job and pressing Reset Jobs does nothing.

Do I need to enter SP mode and do some memory reset (8501) or partial HDD format (5832)?

I'm a Sharp tech and mostly unfamiliar with Ricoh. I assume SP mode is Clear 1 0 7 Start. I just don't want to make the situation worse.

    Thanks for any help.

That's Weird, I thought it would of cleared after a reboot. Just guessing but trying holding in the * and # key at the same time and reboot the device at the red switch. Keep it held in and see if that does anything. If this does not work maybe try to load A3 or A4Short edge into the tray to see if the page might not jam in a different orientation/size (workaround)

as a last option (if no one else has a better idea) go to SP 5801 and search in that area for a memory clear on the scanner application. Obviously make sure you do the right one. Don't do the 'Memory all clear'.

FYI, and for future reference.... for some reason, thread titles that end with the word "print" get posted in "printable view" only.
It's always been the case here, and has never been explained to me

Press and hold the stop button. It should come up with an are you sure press stop on the touch panel.
Then go kick the IT guy`s ass for being too lazy to learn something new.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Re: Ricoh MP3500 - How to clear an internal print (take 2)

I will look in User Tools->Scanner for a setting to turn it off when I go again tomorrow. Is that in the Administrator portion of User Tools or the easily accessed user part?

I tried a few of the other suggestions above and none worked:
-Holding Stop button down did nothing
-Resetting the User Tools->Scanner with holding down # did not resolve issue
-Rebooting copier while holding with * and # did not resolve issue. It came up Diagnose and then cycled through 0200 0100 1400 1500 1600 and then copier booted normally and once the scanner part booted, it tried to send the print job again.

The exact wording of the print being done is "Printing the scanner journal...".

I was unable to get into SP mode to try any of the memory clears or HDD partial format. I tried "Clear 1 0 7 Start", but Start key did not beep and nothing changed.

Is that the correct key sequence? We have old manual which shows all the Service Program, but never explains how to enter SP mode.

    Thanks for the help.

Put your screw driver through the board on the ADF, and cut the wires going to the scanner lamp. Tell them the machine is beyond economical repair, and then they will have to use the Sharp to scan.......

    Huzzah, problem, solved
