    MPC2500

Customer complains of jams, roughly in the post fuser area, but never witnessed by me.

SMC sheet records no location jams, but a number of 'Power On' jams.

On further investigation, the jams only occur when printing and very intermittently.

Latest firmware and PCL6 driver and all driver settings correct ie; accessories correctly added. The machine has a finisher but jams occur wether to standard output tray or finisher.

The customer clears the jam without powering the machine off/on and continues to print from random apps.

XP Pro workstation with driver on Windows 2003 server.
    No printer errors listed.

I'm aware of an issue when printing via Citrix Server as you need to use the device utilities option so the server doesn't forget the machine configuration but that is not the case here.

    Any ideas?

Hi Steve, I had a similar problem on one of these machines, it would periodically jam but not show any locations. I checked buckle timing on the machine and found that the setting was at "0" so in effect there was no push to the registration roller. You may have already checked this but i thought i would just mention it. good luck!

    Thanks Neil..

I had a response from NRG's TRC today and they have seen the problem several times.

The fix is the front interlock switch on the far right cover of the bridge unit.

When I first read this, yesterday morning, the first thing I thought about was the interlock switch on the old 1035's SR720 finisher. It would do the samething. Jam, but not log a jam in log.

I will keep this bridge interlock in mind from now on...Great piece of info!

This is a common scenario on all Ricoh machines. if an interlock (saftey) switch is opened during copy/print cycle no jams will be reported. Thus an intermittent switch will cause this problem.
