    Wide online learning

I'm currently working my way through these modules,
I have very little field experience with this range of machines,
having worked for a Canon dealer for ten years,
two terms that are mentioned throughout are Music and BCU,
could someone explained these please, as the training material assume you are familiar with them,
    thanks

From the service manual for the Aficio 2238C:
MUSIC (Mirror Unit for Skew and Interval Correction)
    BCU (Base Engine Control Unit)

    Re: Wide online learning

I was in a similar situation (Canon for 10+ years)
once you learn the different terminology & the SP mode they are quite nice to work on, for example the feed rollers and drums (PCDU's) have a much longer life than Canon.
One main difference is the firmware, updating to the latest version does help reliability, unlike Canon's it's not installed on the HDD.
I can send you any manuals & fw if you need them

    Cheers much appreciated ,
main problem I'm having atm is lack of exposure to the kit,
but hopefully that will change soon,
i hoping to attend a Ricoh training course, ideally the Metis range,
    regards
