    Ricoh MP201 spf

Making popping noise inside conveying unit. Look in side on the right side but don't see anything out of place or loose?? Hoping someone might have had similar problem.

Sometimes a popping noise occurring from the right side of the machine is caused by the fuser. This occurs when the fuser is past it's PM cycle, or the bearings need lubrication with a high temp grease.

It's almost always the transfer roller frame is cracked around the front bushing of the transfer roller, the pressure when it's against the drum causes it to jump. Don't bother trying to glue/repair it, just replace it.

Thumbs up Re: Ricoh MP201 spf

Another vote for the transfer roller / bushings being the cause.

Same here. I have had the bushings get cruddy and cause the roller to bind or turn slowly. When it binds, the gear on the end starts jumping teeth where it contacts the gear on the drum. Rather loud noise. Clean all the toner out of the bushings and clean the shaft. When it comes back, replace the roller assembly.

YOu can ask the customer if the noise stops during pushing the right door a bit during printing. If yes it's definetely the transfer roller bushing. MP301 transfer roller does also fit - bushing matarial seems modified (some white plastic).

    Hi there!
Agree with all posters. By the way, only the MP 301-roller is availible, fits like the old one.
    Greetings...
