Thanks

Do you guys mean that soft rubbery grey crap that ive removed by accident when cleaning it then freaked out and fitted a new PCU? Is the grey rubbery stuff the protective coating?
These drums would go forever if it wasnt for the charge rollers failing early in winter. Oh yeah - and the odd arc spots every now and then....
We always clean the charge rollers once, then next visit replace the PCU at around 150%....Some go for waaaaay more than 255% depending on the site, but maybe ALL will last if we remove the rubber coating? The CHG rollers are definately the weak spot on these drums - and they fit in every model up to the 03 range so there could be a HUGE cost saving here.
I remove the cleaning roller, then clean all the surface colour off the charge roller using scotchbrite and alcohol, once the roller is uniformly cream in colour, I use a clean cloth with alcohol to clean off any final dirty marks, then ensure it's completely dry before refitting to the PCU
There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don't
I tried that on the ones with the black coating........ I got an achey arm cleaning those lol.
All good information, but it does not answer the question.
Does anyone know if this charge roller can be ordered? It must be the same as something else. Rarely are they unique.
Thanks
Kelly
Just google it. I found 2 suppliers, Chinese I think. I have never seen these before today.
