    Af 102Ah fuser freak out!

I have an AF 1022 that is driving me crazy!

It will intermittently stop with the paper (LEF) halfway stuck in the fuser.

    I have checked/swopped the following:

The drive assembly to the fuser (swing gear had damaged teeth) including the solenoid.

I checked all the clutches down the paper path including registration relay and tray clutches.

I have removed and cleaned the exit section and interchange unit (machine has duplex and bridge plus finisher). This includes all the solenoids.

Everything in the fuser is 100% (gears, bearings, etc.

I need to regain my sanity!

    Couple questions/thoughts:
Where is the paper set to exit? Internal tray? Finisher?
Does it happen if the exit location is changed?
What about removing the Bridge and finisher to see if the result is different?
Does it have a 1 bin tray? (may be a switch gate problem if it does?)
You said "LEF". Does it not happen "SEF" or with other sizes?

What is the location number of the jam in the SMC logging data report? If there is no entry in the logging data, check/replace the cover interlock switches on the bridge unit. You also may need check/replace all other small push button type interlock switches. I had a few of these in an almond processing plant. Microfine dust from the almond milling would work it way into the switches. Slight vibration and the machine though a cover had been opened.

I've seen these jams if the press roller is old - even if the fuser did it's job (no offset..). If the parts are really 100% ok one might indeed check the jam counters/locations.

Other ricoh models suffer from faulty fuser exit sensors (due to the heat they can't stand for ages) - perhaps this is something to consider here, too.

I second that "pressure roller" statement,I changed alot of those if it stops halfway true fuser.
Try it without bridge unit and finisher, and try with diferent exit section.
Allso check if hot and pressure roller bearings are in place,it's common fault in that type of fusers to have bearings bust out guides that are restricting bearing movement to the left.
Once guides are broken both bearings and hot roller shift to the left and lower the pressure aplied to paper causing it to jam ocasionaly,if that is the case eather change fuser lower frame or swap 1018/1027 type bearings with 2035 ones with ring on it (field solution).
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

I remember this happening due to a dirty or faulty sensor, my brain is telling me it sits above the fuser on the right hand side.
