    Ricoh MP6001 NVRAM

I'm sure this has been covered a million times and the search bar for copytechnet sucks! Sorry, just a little frustrated because I cannot find what I need. I have a MP6001 that I would like to put a new NVRAM in first because the password has been changed (both admin and superviser) and two because I would like to zero out the counter. When I install a new one at the bottom of the screen the message is (Cannot install this software. This software has already been installed in another machine.) NVRAM is brand new. I would like to know the installation process to not have this message. I pray I have not already messed up the brand new NVRAM. Thanks!

I hope that you either have the old NVRAM or that you backed it up to a SD card so the data can be restored to the new NVRAM. If that does not work, put the original NVRAM back in and somewhere on this forum there is a thread that has instructions as to how to edit the passwords sections of the backed up data. As for zeroing the counters, that is both illegal and unethical.

Yes, I know but I can't find the thread! As for it being illegal and unethical you would be wrong in this case. I sell them under the condition that the machine is totally refurbished with a life time replacement guarantee which the customer is WELL aware of making your point void!

Mika, I can't remember if you were the one who posted it originally, but that is the editing cheat sheet that I remember seeing before.

It may have been skynetto who post it. I believe he has something similar with his password editor tool.
I'm not absolutely certain the original text came from him though.

I tried this tool with no success for a MP6001. I did a search for Ã[ and took the time to look myself but could not find it in the Hxd program. I believe (like stated) it was originally for B222/230 style machines which I have not tried yet.

    Re: Ricoh MP6001 NVRAM

Our usual procedure for replacing an NV-ram in a reconditioned machine, would be to 'Download' the old Nv-ram data in SP5XXX to an SD card in the service slot.
We then replace the physical NV-ram and select Upload Nv-ram data.

Some issues I've come across after a successful download and upload is that the device settings (also in SP5XXX) don't enable NIC and USB, You will need to change their values to 1 to enable. Also, sometimes the Machine serial number disappears and it needs to be re-entered before you can do the upload.

The message you've recieved seems to me like you've got a Java or Security option card fitted from another machine. I've never had it when replacing an NV-Ram (yet).
