Every now and then the customer will get a smudge (smear) on the page. I cant get it to do it for me, the showed me examples. So, I replaced the Black pcu, still does it sometimes. Does anyone have any ideas, almost looks like a charge issue.

Check the state of the fuser sleeve.
There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don't
I've had fusing sleeve, drum and dev unit all cause smudges.
The fusing sleeve bends, scratches or scuffs.
The drum cleaning roller gets dirty.
The dev unit gets covered in toner (worn seal?) and regularly needs cleaning, sometimes the toner drops back onto the drum.
Make sure ALL firmware is up to date, here are 3 common solutions to intermittent CQ issues...COLD OFFSET IMAGES ON VARIETY TYPES OF DOCUMENTS.pdfDIRTY BACKGROUND.pdfGRANULES OF BLACK TONER APPEAR ON FIRST PRINTED SHEET.pdf
Clean the stripper plate, toner gets built up on it & damages the fuser sleeve, if you catch it in time it won't have to replace the sleeve.

If the smudge appears to always be the same shape and is the same distance from the sides of the page, pull out the ITB and check it for damage.
Replaced the fuser sleeve, so far so good. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the help.
