how can i reset sc 542 on a c 312dn color printer.
need to enter service mode to reset . how can i enter service mode?
notes / the ricoh printer (Aficio SP C312DN) dose not have a keypad with numbers. there is a stop/start key ,job reset key,menu key, escape key , up and down key, and #enter key

Hold up and down keys for a few seconds, release then press either menu or escape key. I can never remember which, I hardly work on small printers these days.

If you still have the original driver disk that came with the SP C311N, run the Smart Organizing Monitor program that is on it. If you do not have the disk, you can download SOM from Ricoh driver page: http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/p...2/c311_2en.htm

SC542 indicates a temperature problem in the fusing unit, and that error code will reoccur until the temperature problem is fixed. You may need to replace the fusing unit before that error code can be cleared.

Enter service mode:
Press the “Up/Down arrow” keys together for about 5 seconds, and then press the“OK” key.

“SYSTEMver x.xx/ 1. Service” appears on the display.

Another (easier) way to enter service mode is to switch the machine off at the main switch, hold down the up/down arrows and re-switch the machine on while still holding down the arrow keys.
