How fast does the waste bottle fill up, how many prints/copies?
And how much toner does the machine use? Are you printing lots of full colour etc?

This is normal, they fill very fast. Keep a few spare containers on site for the customer to swap out.

I guess this is because they overtone so badly, 10% of the toner is printed on the paper, the the rest of the toner either builds up on the botton of the dv unit or gets removed & put into the waste bottle!
    Awfull machine.

It's better than what we had with the MPC6501 that dumps toner all over the place. At least this machine moves it to the waste bottle. Now, if we could just get those 6501's out of the field we'd have a lot less work to do.

This happens on the pro 5100/5110 also. It has alot to do with placement of the machine. These aren't supposed to be the 1 or 2 page office printers, they need to be used for the higher # of pages per job runs. As the typical office printer/copier they fill the WTB quickly, as a production machine they will not fill the WTB so quickly.......... place a spare WTB with every machine.......

Yes I agree with that. If they need an office MFP, the MPC6003 is a great machine. We replaced a few MPC6000 dogs with MPC6003's, now we hardly ever get calls in those accounts.

    Awfull machine.
This machine does not have the toner scattering problem like the MP C6501 had. The machine is designed to main optimum copy quality. To achieve this in run what is called toner refresh mode where it dumps toner to the development unit, applies it to the drum and cleans it off into the waste toner bottle. This is to keep the toner in the development unit "fresh". As would be expected, if coverage is high, toner usage is high, but if coverage is less than 6%, toner usage also goes up as toner refresh mode is ran more often. Toner refresh is also ran more often is pages per job is less than 10. For more details see BULLETIN NUMBER: D135/D136/D137/D138 – 094 WASTE TONER VOLUME FLUCTUATIONS. Also make sure that your firmware is up to date. BULLETIN NUMBER: D135/D136/D137/D138 – 100 WASTE TONER YIELD VARIES The Engine firmware has been modified to Ver. 1.31.08, to optimize the Process Control timing.
