MP2000 rebuild the PCU or replace with ?

I am on the side of using the Type 1027 on the MP series 2550 / 3352.
I know that's not always the most popular way to go, but it works for me.

So with that said I picked up an MP2000 with 15000 clicks yesterday. Got it real cheap!

Then I see the that the PCU is pretty expensive and a rebuildable one at that.
I do like a "take it out of the box/slide it in" PCU like the Type 1027 PCU's I use in the MP 2550 units.

I'm just not familiar with these units...
Is there a older Type PCU that is not rebuildable that will slide right in and work.

The 2000 is a reliable little machine (most of the time; the dev gears tend to break easily), a full drum rebuild will go far. We used to send them out to sites for long rentals, until our customer required colour.

Unfortunately, there's no all-in-one PCU that's compatible with the MP 2000. In the right environment though, they can be a pretty reliable machine.

A couple of things to look out for: the PCU itself is fairly flimsy: make sure that all of your connections are good and tight, and also be sure to thoroughly clean out all of the developer gears with compressed air and a vacuum on every EM call.

One other thing to note: the fuser fingers can be very finicky. They tend to make a chirping sound after anywhere from a few hundred to about five thousand copies, the only way to fix it is to replace them. They also fall off their tensioner springs very easily causing accordion jams. The best way to prevent this is to feed all paper LEF and to remove the middle fuser finger, which is usually the one to get caught on something. I think that might be some kind of message from the engineers to the techs at times...

These PCU's are very simple to rebuild.
Once you're familiar with them, they can easily be done in under 20 minutes. And even with all genuine parts, the cost is very reasonable.
Just be very careful to keep the dev gears clean and free of developer, or as Ruben says they will wear easily, otherwise I've run them for several rebuilds without issue.

Well this office is going to be a pretty low volume type of environment.
NO printing or faxes, just a copier.
Guessing, I'd say 1000 a month maybe less.

Just checked Precision and they are out of stock on these.
Ideas where I might look for one?

So surprised there's no earlier equivalent that would be plug and play.
I've rebuilt Type 1027 pcu's and never liked the results, maybe this unit is different.
