    Ricoh MP C3003 SC540-00

    Hi yall

Got this MP C3003 throwing sc540-00

    Done:

    1. FW updated
    2. Fusing Unit changed
    3. Fusing Drive motor changed
    4. Connector for fusing incl. harness (the machine part) changed
    5. Rotate sensors changed
    6. IOB (Transport - D1495120) changed

with no luck... HEEEEELP or at least give me some free firmware (just joking)

    Any clue?

EDIT: Forgot to say it is a periodic error... in between it runs great.

    Hi there!
After all parts you changed i think the problem is the BCU. If the fusing driveīs going easy itīs the only part that cause that problem.
    Greetings...

    Hey Zaxxon,
What fixed your SC 540 error? Was it the BICU?
I've got one doing exactly the same thing, thrown every thing at it but is still intermittently SC 540's.
It's very embarrassing as its an in-house machine

I've changed the complete harness (for the drive) and the fusing drive unit (was not sure if my colleague did actually change this)

It is a 3-4 hours job, but did the trick for this little devil.

We just fixed a 2503 that was throwing "SET FUSING UNIT CORRECTLY" intermittently to begin with and then constantly.
It also turned out to be the harness between the machine side plug and the Transport IOB.
Seems like some numpty is over tightening the cable ties in the factory

I think Ricoh must write off cable ties totally, as the new internal finisher in the MPC range, keeps breaking its staple loom, right where the cable ties are....

MP171 ADF cable ring a bell? Same cable tie rubbish design.

Thanks for the quick replies Guys, I'll try a bit of delicate surgery with the side cutters, snip the cable ties and relieve the pressure on the loom.
Don't want to spent too much time on it as it belongs to the Managed Information Service crew who are doing their best to put us all out of a job by promoting paperless offices.
In fact if they are so dedicated to electronic storage of documents why do they want a copier at all?

Reset with SP 5810 every time it fails. Then runs for 8 to 10 days before it fails again.

Fixed it, a new IOB did the trick. Run for two weeks now without problems.
