    Pro 907 SC 990

Morning, fellow techies. I am working on getting rid of this code occurring when the machine fires up in the morning using the scheduled on/off timer. I do not recognize the file that is causing the problem. Can anyone identify what part of the machine I need to look at to solve the issue?

SDK, to me, implies Java. There is a new update for Java, v5.19.00, released in January that corrects some power on SC errors. I would try a full update including Java, sadly SC990 is very ambiguous.

I agree with ruben but i'd also check if the customer is even using anything that requires java. If not then set the java to stop.

here's ricoh's def of some of the acronyms in the file name in case it helps...

SDK/VAS SDK: Applications provided by third-party vendors designed to function with
MFP/LP pricipal machine functions developed by Ricoh.
VAS: An MFP/LP API that standardizes the meanings of simplified commands
used by SDK applications when communicating with the MFP/LP.

SCS (System Control Service) Manages the status of all internal operations performed on or by the
system as a whole, and controls the switching of the LCD screen as
well as the operational link between SP settings and machine
    operations.

I went ahead and updated to the 5.19 version. Java was the only extended feature on the VM card, so I have high hopes this is a solution. Time will tell. Thanks for the replies.

Mika, if your customer is NOT running any SDK or java apps stop java in extended feature settings then uninstall java and remove the VM card from the machine. If you leave the card in the machine it will install itself every time you reboot the machine...........

This is an in-shop machine that doesn't have a home yet. I just wanted to make sure all was well before it hits the field. It booted just fine this morning, so I believe it's fixed.

    Re: Pro 907 SC 990

Sadly we do not have many Pros out in the field, most of our customers (until recently) were small offices that could not support the weight. Now we are moving more towards schools that can, but they want the cheaper Sharps, shame really. One of our Pros sometimes throws a 990 once in a while, so I might suggest a Java update as well.
