    Ricoh MP C3000 Firmware SMB3 ?

    Hi,

I'm pretty sure this machine needs new firmware to talk to SMB3 shares for scan to folder to work, can anybody tell me what the latest network firmware is for a UK MP C3000?

I already requested this from the service provider but I believe what they have sent over to me is the version already loaded on the machine, Network Firmware B2385605L 5.20.1 & System_Copy Firmware B2385601X 1.71

Any ideas so I can tell them what to send me?

    Thanks in advance.

That is the lastest and greatest. It corrects the authentication problems.

Oh ok this is what I have already, did they not release a special / modified firmware to support SMB3 (Windows 8 / Server 2012) ?

Is this an old model, the only reason I ask is because my customer only had it installed less than 2 years ago?

This model cannot scan to SMB3 and there are no plans to update it. You will need to use FTP or email scanning, both supported in all versions of Windows and Mac.

There is custom firmware from the US site, but it may or may not work and it may or may not cause other problems.

You can find it here by searching for custom firmware.

Ok thanks, I guess this is an old model then.

I'm not going to try and put any firmware on that is not supported by the service provider (although I did find something called B2385605L_RC0451.fwu on the net which is supposed to fix smb on w8 & svr 2012).

They only have 2-3 Windows 7 & 8 workstations no server, what is the easiest way to setup scan to ftp?

The file you found is just the SD card version of the latest network support firmware, which does not do anything for SMB3.

That is the correct firmware version. It was released in the US as a Special/Custom firmware. Release date is February 6, 2013. If you are in the US and your service provider is an authorized Ricoh dealer, they can download it from either TSRC or rfg-esource. The only reason that they would not want to do so is if they are wanting to sell you a new machine.

P.S. There is also a Special/Custom firmware for scanning to MAC OS 10.7 available on rfg-esource.

Thanks I will ask the service provider if they can supply/approve that version, I guess Ricoh Europe/UK may not provide that version to dealers like they do in the US.

I don't think the provider wants to sell them a new machines they only installed this one 18 months ago (managed print contract).

    Re: Ricoh MP C3000 Firmware SMB3 ?

Ok so the service provider is telling me the firmware they have sent me is in fact the modified version but I am still a little sceptical,

    I have;-

from the service provider B2385605L.rru - 4.17 MB (4,374,240 bytes)

from the post here Remote_B2385605L_LRC0451.rru - 4.17 MB (4,377,532 bytes)

Could anybody with the modified firmware tell me what size it should be? (this is for a UK MP C3000)

I just want to make sure that I have the right firmware before going back to the customer & I would be not feel comfortable loading firmware from an internet download unless I am 100% happy it is the correct one.

Thanks in advance this forum is awesome

4,377,532 bytes for the Remote version. 4,377,276 bytes for the SD card version.
