MP161 will not display replace pcu

The machine will not display the "replace photoconductor unit" when it reaches the 45k mark. I have checked
SP 5912 is set to 45
SP 5507-005 is set to 1(supply drum)

This is the only machine I have seen that does not display.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

The PCU is rated @ 60K.
Set the PM counter @ 60K or 45K then turn on PM notification.

By the way, the PCU's can stretch to 80K.

Replace/ rebuild when they fail, not by a counter.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I usually do push them to 80 or 90k. I have this one set to 45 because I want to see if it displayed and it did not. Do you happen to know which SP is for the PM notification?

When did you set it to 45k? After it had already exceeded it? It doesn't work that way. It won't display the message after the fact, simply because you've set the # lower than the dev counter
Are you sure that the unit was properly reset and calibrated at install? In other words, did the dev counter reset to zero.? HWat it the dev counter at now?

There is no "on/off" setting as to whether it displays or not - unless (maybe) if the interval is set to "0", but that's just a guess.

In the big picture, and if all else fails, as suggested, keep records, and replace it when it needs doing.

Print out the smc (sp5-990) and see where the counter is at. If you change the value you need to reset the counter to have a start point or it will never show the message. I agree with the above post that they run until they fail. I set all mine to 0 so the message will not show-up. If you had it as a chargeable replacement supply you might want it to say replace pcu.

I recall machines with older firmware would not display this message no matter what you set it at.
Try updating the firmware and see if it corrects it.
I know that is a "blanket answer" but I have seen this before.
    I hope that helps.

    sorry for late post.
