The mechanical components of this print engine are based on the ancient analog FT5590 family. These machines would go into development motor lock when the development units were badly worn and/or the drive gears were badly worn. These machines also will lock up if one is using non-Ricoh developer and/or toner as they will overfill the unit. First thing I would do is clean out the unit. Vacuum out all the old developer you can; this will take much time as it is necessary to get out all you possibly can. Clean the magnetic rollers with Scotchbrite or similar non-metallic abrasive pad. With the unit empty, check it for binds. If it does not turn freely, I would suggest replacing the unit. You can get bearings and seals, but we never found it cost effective to rebuild as the units are jig assembled at the factory and one cannot get them perfect in the field. If the unit if free, install new Ricoh developer, going through all the steps in the manual. If the SC441 still occurs, it is time to replace the drive train to the development section. Not a fun prospect.

I think you have to check magn. roller o-ring bearings, then the idler gear between mag. and paddle roller. They use to stuck.
Otherwise fit a new bearing on developer drive motor assy.
Magnetic roll bearings can cause that feeling of hardened developer. Take a look!!

Check your Developer drive motor , that is the most common thing to cause that code , there is a bushing in it that wears out.

Thank you all 4 ure reply.

One more my question in my head......... is it because of the dv roller not turning cause the toner hardened in between the mag roller and the casing or the friction of toner becouse of the gap from roller to the drum.

Just for our point to think.................

in fact the toner will melt when there are heat build-up.
what I ve found is the toner melt and become like a raisin.

And if I change all thous parts and using a ginuene parts on dv ,toner.
    then the problem doesn't exsist?

Become a technician is not a bad job I think

If the machine is building up excessive amounts of heat (enough to melt toner on the dv roller, make sure your exhaust fan filters are not clogged up.

If I print just in 150 cps after warm up then the sc441 appear.its not a long time to build a heat around the drum.
I mean after I have service and clean up the tank and drum.an on the machine.Runs in 150 copies.

May be an alien there.ha ha ha ......................
