This was also my last thought about this problem. But is there a possibility to change the scansettings while scanning with twain drivers, or does it use the settings from the machine? (probably machine)

one other thing....a aficio 2016 can scan to mail. It's not realy a solution to your problem, but it is much easier to scan through mail in comparison with a twain driver, and you can use the document feeder in stead of the glass plate. (just informative )

    succes,

But you realy need twain when using OCR for ex: Omnipage and you will need the platen glass if your scanning books, so thats not a solution, just my two cents.

Okey, i'm glad you didn't take me serious when i said something about closing this case. Maby it's the ''hevy'' weekend that makes me said that.

Today i do little bit of practice with another Ricoh. We have quite new Aficio MP C3000 in our office. I install it's own twain driver and test it as a twain scanner in our own network. It works finely, even from platenglass, so i think i handle the methode.

Cobiray, thanks for your hint! I try to make time to go to my customer and test that, maby immediately tomorrow.

Froota, i promise (now i know better) to my customer that they can use Ricoh scanning option as their other scanners, direct from Photoshop.

    So let's see...

Enter service mode and try this SP:

    4428
    Scan Auto-Adjustment
4428-1 Performs the automatic scanner adjustment. Use this SP mode after replacing the white plate.
you can also try puting a paper over the ADF glass and try to scan, just to see if you need to ajust the scanner. if it works then go into service mode and try auto ajustment, if you need the service manual we´ll provide it. a ricoh problem must always have a solution, thats why we´re the best brand and this problem must be resolved.

You can also use ocr while scanning to mail. You just have a image of a document even with twain scanning. Using a ocr software can convert this without problems. (readiris for example)

And scanning a book from glassplate is even possible with scanning to mail. You have 60 seconds to place the next document, so this should be enough.

    greets,
    Froota

Pieter, did you understand what I said. I know you can scan anything from the platen glass, after scaning just press # to end scanned pages, but the problem is he can´t scan from the glass because of the Sc code, isn´t it true.

    fully agree.....
But sometimes you have to look further than just the problem.

    Thumbs up

Okey guys, tuesday i get finaly time to get seriosly this case. With those good advices i get here, i take my laptop and go to do some test. I
change the scanning resolutions higher and lower and finaly, YES, i get it scan sometimes without error! So the speed of scanner have something to do with this problem!
That open my eyes, could this still bee the mechanical problem?

Today i go back, scanner motor with me, change it and YES!, that do the trick! Scanning works great from 100 to 600 dpi!

Now, when problem is resolved, i may say that i didn't see the forest for the trees. I was noobie with this case, but i'm glad, that make me learn something new again!

So guys, thanks to every one who help me here with this case!
Maby someday i could do same to someone!
