There is also a firmware resolution for this.
System Version 1.22 Resolves the following:
Device is not displayed in the MAC Chooser using Apple Talk as a printer port.
Unlike the PostScript, this is a service issue as opposed to a sales issue... That may allow you to actually see the device until the PS is installed.
If you dont want to ad the postscript you can use your pc as the printer server and just run all print jobs to it. The ps chip is going to be about $1000 from a ricoh dealer, but I can find you one for about half that if you are interested.
Hi Nemmy,
all replies about PS3 SD are correct but if you don't mind speed or some little problem you can use GIMP PS driver for MAC.
You can find details in this site. Gutenprint Printer Drivers
But i will also post a question to those experts who replied to this post.
I have the same machine (nashua branded DSC445) with PS sd card installed. Type 2238.
This card looks damaged or corrupted....infact if I try to print with a Mac with PS installed after some kbyte (188 kb often) the machine Hangs and the lcd panel locks. I can only turn off the machine.
Moving the card to a different machine the problem moves too.... so we all think that the problem is into the SD CARD.
Does anybody know whether i'ts possible to check the card, copy datas into a new card, or request the substitution of the SD without buying again the PS "licence".... It's like buying "MS Office" and rebuy it if the CD broke up. Ricoh Italy says I must buy another card (1.650 euros) but I am astonished..,.
Thank to everybody....

Legally you cant copy the PS to another card. But given the choice and if were my money I would copy the program to another SD card and go from there. Its more likely the card than the program.
I've never heard of this happening.
But Vince, you are a dealer, what does your DSM say about this?![]()

Nemmy: If I remember correctly, PS card goes in slot 2. (Slot 3 is for a
service SD card.)
Nobody-Here: No way that I know of to check card (other than what you have done).
Sounds to me like someone ALREADY tried to copy the card, as this will cause it to be unusable, according to what I've heard (never tried to copy one, myself). Supposedly a little preventive feature that Adobe and
Ricoh came up with.
Regards

OK, you´re right, the card fits into slot 2 (three is service).
Listen theres no guten print cups for this machine, this SD card will cost you no more than €600, its better than buying a new machine, hehehe.
No ricoh SD cards can be cloned, fax, printer scanner, Adobe postscript, an so on. The only thing cloned with sucsses that I know of is Dolly and it worked with perfection.
We can all Win, but at the end we all loose. Save the greyhound
Jomama46.... DSM ?? Wat does it mean??
I asked to Ricoh Italy (Italian Ricoh Branch) Technicians and Salesman and they say... Buy a new PS card.
to others....
If you read the SD card does not look crypeted..(I can read some files)
I can read it but i did not tried to copy it.... I don't think I can damage it with a simple copy... the problem is that I think It won't work... too easy to avoid buying new ones.....
