    Smile Desktopbinder pro

Just fitted 2 file format converters to a 2090 and a mp9000. the customer has 750 files on the 2090 and wanted to have them transfered to the mp9000. however, i managed to get the files out of the first machine using desktopbinder but desktopbinder will not let me put them onto the machines hard drive document server. I rang Ricoh who told me that it could be done if i purchased 2 file format converters @ £200 each and use desktopbinder, so i did but when this failed i rang Ricoh again and they said i would possibly need desktopbinder pro. What a crock, all the customer wants is the files from one machine moving to another machine. It aint rocket science is it? Microsoft managed to work out how to do it so Ricoh should have it sussed.
Anyway does anyone know where i can BUY a copy of DTB pro or is there another way to achieve this simple goal. thans!

Data obtained by scanning originals can be stored in the hard disk of the machine using the Document Server, and the stored data can be used later. Using DeskTopBinder V2 Lite/Professional, stored data can be viewed, retrieved, or deleted with a client computer.

In other words, you have what you need, Tech Support just doesn't know how to use it.
    Work with it.!

Hi, thanks for the reply, so what you are saying is that the documents cannot be copied onto the new machines hard drive? If so, then that was a waste of £400+ a load of wasted time .Thanks a lot Ricoh support service. The customer also bought a mpc 3500 and had a 2232 with 250 quark documents on its hard drive which i had to reprint to the new machine, it took me 6 hours, how long will it take me to reprint 750 quark documents. Who designs a machine that you cannot move hard drive data. (on the 2232 i tried swapping hard drives from 2232 to mpc 3500 but all that did was wipe the HDD data)
once again thanks for the reply.

    Hi there,

Yeah, tried that it did not work ,plain and simple, I spent 2. hours copying files to DTB then another 2 hours tossing about on a lost cause. If it wasn't for the £350000 a year i would tell the salesman who set me up with the customer to shove the job.

How can you tell when a salesman is lying?

    His lips are moving.

Haven't worked with DTB in a long time...but if you have the documents in DTB now, why don't you Print them to Document Server on the new machine. Yeah it's a lot of time and work. Better yet...sit the Salesman down in front of a computer and make him earn his commission.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.
