Gestetner MP161ln

Hi guys...

I've installed a MP161ln machine on Windows XP.
Specified IP address installed and DDST driver in use.
I can only print if I change the RAW ports from 9100 to 10001.


my problem is as follows:
My client is using a Domain-based server with Microsoft Server2003 on it.
If I load the DDST driver, the print spooler stops and will only be working if I take the driver off.
I've tried PCL6 driver too and no luck...
There is no firewalls and policies.

Any help will be appreciated...

The GDI controller is lightweight budget crap basically.
And the DDST drivers are known to be temperamental.

PCL6 is a extra option you would need to add to the GDI controller for that to work.
But it would be far cheaper than upgrading them to the GW version of MP161.

Salemen should be shot on site if caught trying to sell a machine with GDI controller! lol

Had the same problem with an MP161LN only worked when i changed configured my port from RAW to LPR.....keeps on breaking down still...I really hate this box...

No it isn't - all MP161 series machines are fixed configurations.
