Hi first post and i got a good one, this machine has started intermittently printing extra print from copier and also occasionally printing doubleups when recieveing faxes, checked to make sure that it was set to only print one set one recieving faxes and this was correct.
The strange part is that it only does it maybe 1 to 4 times a day print extra copies.
Any help would be apreciated.
Reformat the hard drive.
If it contines remove and reinstall the print drivers.
The most difficult problem has the SIMPLEST solution.
The hardest problem is FINDING that simple solution.
My first bet would be a firmware related issue, second, is abit of along shot but could be down to a user who accidently always taps the print button a 2nd time or resends faxes as she/he isnt sure if the fax went through senario.
I had the same complaint on a new machine (MP4000) recently. The user complained that it was duplicating her faxes only. It was happening around twice a day.
I updated the firmware to the latest, check the line (Line test) adjusted the db levels slightly.
I left my business card and advised the user to call me if it started happening again. I also advised her to call the sending party after she had received the duplication and ask if they had any problems sending the fax ( extra info is always good ).
I have not heard back from her so must be good...(1 month ago)
