User code authentication is either enabled or disabled for a selected function, I've not seen any options to exclude a I.P range (not unless it's something new which is possible).
I have a customer who would like to use user codes but have them not apply for a range of IP addresses. Anything sent from that specified range should print regardless if it authenticates or not. According to Ricoh and the manuals this is possible by turning on User Authentication > User Codes > Printer Job Authentication > Simple Limitation > Set the IP range.
For the life of me I cannot get this to work and have spent hours on it. I even tried anable Admin Authentication first then enabling codes (Ricoh's suggestion) but it is still denying jobs from the IP range specified.
Has anyone else tried this? BTW, this is not the same as Access Control Range which is completely different.

Hmmm ok I'll try and take a look at this today if I get time.![]()
I think it is limited to the RPCS driver. Do you have the newest one?
You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

I tried that as well with the latest driver but no luck. If RPCS was the case then the whole concept would be pretty pointless.
"Limitation Range (IPv4) Enter a range for limiting unauthenticated print jobs from IPv4 addresses. You can set up to five ranges.
Any job sent from an IPv4 address within the range entered here is printed, regardless of whether or not it is authenticated. Any unauthenticated job sent from an IPv4 address outside the entered range is not printed.
Note
- This setting is only possible if [Printer Job Authentication] is set to "Simple (Limitation)"."
Ok I spent a hour this afternoon trying various settings and I couldn't figure this one out either.
I used the PCL6 driver and I could get usercodes and basic username and password authentication setup and working no problem.
But the simple (limitation) that should allow a specified I.P range to bypass the need to authenticate does not appear to work.
The MFD would just reset the job and log a auth error everytime.

Update: It does work on Savin B&W machines such as a 9050...like a charm. Still no such luck on a color machine though...
I was testing it on a Savin C9025.
It wouldn't suprise me if it is a bug and that they fix it at some point with a firmware update.
