    Ricoh AF2060 SC555

    I got a Ricoh AF2060 thats throwing a SC555. I know what it stands for. But the thermo stat is failing..?
    Any body with a clue? Ricoh tells me to wrap the thermister wires with electrcal tape..? What ever....

    thermostat failing? did you mean, that the thermoswitches are triggering continously?

    have you replaced the thermostats with the latest parts?

    check the triac on the ac board, it can be short circuited.

    Often the fuser wires will have open insulation causing shorts.
    But the first thing is to put the new thermostat in.

    You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

    Also you can monitor the fuser temp in SP mode.

    in german we call it "Fehlerstromschutzschalter", a device, which triggers, if not the same amount of current which flows to the device/circuit, returns. That would indicate, that some current flows the wrong way, maybe someone, who touch the line, per example; or neutral shorts against earth

    "residual current device" should be the right translation, i hope
