Gestetner MP 161 - Updating destination list failed?

The error message "Updating destination list has failed. Try again?" always appears. I can't browse network to add a path via SMB. OK to add path on a manual entry though. What causes this destination list error message? Any help much appreciated.

We've only had this happen about 1,000 times or so.

Sounds to me like "Use Delivery Server" is turned on.

The machine is looking for a non-existent Scan Router server, which it can't find.

Agree with Ken, switch it off in System Settings - File Transfer.

If you're setting up scanrouter, then you dont need SMB and the message means it cannot find the scanserver. If you're setting up SMB then turn off the delivery server in UT>SS>file transfer>Delivery option:Off, it is only used for ScanRouter and (patooee on ScanRouter).

For SMB, set up a folder and grant full control to everyone. Put it in the shared doc folder to make it easier.
note the name of the computer and make the path \\name of computer\name of shared folder.

put that into Start>run> and see if the folder appears. If it does you are almost golden. If it doesnt check and turn off any firewalls.
