Sc 681 Ricoh mpc3500/4500

Hey,

Anyone familiar with this sc681 on the mpc3500?
Customer already replaced several tonercartridges but this sc still returns.

It's a communications error on the RFID receptor or on a toner cartridge.

Yesterday we replaced the RFID board, cleaned all toner end sensors and upgraded al firmware. After printing a 100 pages and executing a forced toner supply, the machine worked fine. But this morning the customer called back with the same error.

Could it be something with the chip on the toner cartridge, or some battery?

if you are reffering the Radio Frequency ID antenna you have replace and still same... how about the harness to IOB or worst is the IOB is damage. try to check sir the IOB...

Hi,

As last possibility we checked the harness to the I/O board, because it was a little bit stuck between the frame.
At this moment the machine still works, so let us hope, otherwise we will change the I/O board to test.

Why dont you try to sell your products to your government, offer them a good price and they´ll probably send on vacation to Tibet... for some time and give you some electrical shocks to see if you forget you sold them that crap so they would not have to pay you, hehehe .

Jokes apart, I am also having this problem, where the machine is saying that new toners are empty. Tried 4 toners with the same result. This is the first the time we are getting htis problem after more then two years. Any suggestions ?

OK, so the problem your describing here is different to the SC code above. We have had the problem where a full toner is showing as empty, the most common cause of this is the small glass tube through which the toner passes just behind the exit of the cartridge (access from the back of the machine). The glass has a light sensor which shines through the toner to check that the toner is flowing. Anyway, the glass tube can get a light toner coating which stops the sensor working properly and hence the toner is registered as empty when its not. Clean the glass tube (sorry for the lingwinded answer, its late and I cannot think straight after 5.30pm).

Good, first you have to use original toners. Second, there is already firmware to solve this problem. But before you do the test the RFID sensor for detecting, then see if the chip cartridge.

Thanks all for your support. problem was solved by replaceing Black toner supply pump.
