    Question E-7100 Fiery question

I have an MP C7500 with fiery that I took over when one of the guys on my team was laid off. The customer is concerned that the available hard drive space for the fiery is only about 2 GB. The memory section is completely free and they have had no real issues with the device.
I tried installing all previous patches to see if there would be something there to help and also set all settings to factory defaults to no avail. So does the OS for a colour fiery really take nearly 60 GB of space or is there a greater issue here?
They also have an MP 1106 with a fiery that shows only a little over 1 GB of hard drive space used up.

    Thanks in advance

Remember when you print it spools to the fiery and it is saved there for futher use, sound like they never deleted the files spooled to the fiery, I would check that.
We can all Win, but at the end we all loose. Save the greyhound

Look at the HOLD queue using CommandWorkStation, version 5 is available for download. Its big, so do it after hours.
Also, when in the CWS, look at the Archive to see if they saved any files on the SERVER INTERNAL drive. That would be the fiery HDD.
Also, scans? What is the setting for clearing out scan files. These can be big and take a lot of space. Look at the configuration sheet for that setting.

And last. Did you do a Clear Server. This will clear out all but the Archives I beleive.

I did a clear server so no files show in any queue or archive, but the HDD still shows all of that dead space. I have CWS 5 on my laptop now though so when I get back to the account next I will see if it allows me to look further into it.
As a last resort I could always try to reload all of the system software...

    An update on this issue:

Installing the latest and greatest version of the system software (version 1.10) cleared out all of the dead space.
Also a note to anyone: do not install the patches available for version 1.0 of the fiery software as they will completely hose the 1.10 system software and you'll need to re-install it all over again...
