MPC2800, first print of the day always jams

    Hey,

I figure it's when the machine's awaken from power save mode, first print always jams. From what I can tell by the customers description it always jams in the fuser or just before the fuser.

After they clear the jam everything is fine the whole day. Next day, same thing. The power save mode is set to 4 hours, so I guess it never really goes down during daytime, hence this happening only mornings when the machine has gone down during the night.

    Any thoughts..?

what jam location is listed in the logging data?

Can you reproduce that power-saving theory if you set the energy timer testwise down to a few minutes?
Cheers Jan Sommer ....and pardon my English^^

Ask them to take the first couple of sheets off the top of the tray before they run anything. Could be damp paper.

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

Both Good ideas above. Also possible its firmware. Seen machines jam in the past coming out of sleep mode due to firmware. There is no firmware that fixes this for this model.

But of the two above.. Paper getting moisture overnight or such.

Great suggestions all of you, I'll be sure to try them all!

There is actually a firmware upgrade available for the power saving subsystem, F13. The current one is F12, so I'll upgrade that too. There's a few others as well, for system, printer and engine too.
