| The lct has never worked, and i completely disconnected it to see if that would clear the code. No good. When you turn the machine on it come ready for about 2 sec. Then it diplays the j001 code and shows the letter "a" on the screen wtih a dotted line indicating the paper path through out the machine, and indicates to open rt side and front door to clear jam. Forget about those codes. They are too generic to be of much use compared to the service jam codes. I don't see where you mentioned the service jam code. Go check the data in 7-507. It is timestamped and will tell you EXACTLY which sensor the machine detected an error at.

Another note, as a rule the only way to clear a jam indication is to clear the sensors and open/close ALL of the doors that the machine wants cycled. Power On/Off and service mode resets will NOT clear jam codes.
