No can do without a fax module I think. Without the modem and such there's no way for the machine to forward to a fax number or such.
So it's a strange question but my customer need this:
He would like to send a mail with a tiff attachment to a specific address (i.e. MPC2500@domain.com) then He supposes that the MPC2500 gets this email through pop3 connection and forwards it to a normal FAX NUMBER indicated in the email itself.
Additional infos.
- Machine is configured as fax machine.
- I am not so good inside IP-FAX Technology.
- My customer is a programmer so if the email should be manipulated in some way I think he can do himself.
Is all of this possible? Where can I get information to help him?
Thanks a lot
Vincenzo.

Hi,
The thing that bothers me is what this got to do with the ricoh machine....
I understand that he want to use the mfp in this process, but aren't there other easier ways to do this? for example by just sending a mail or faxing by lanfax?
Customers are really inventive sometimes and want to get it all out of the machine, but don't forget it's 'just' a copier with some extra features.....

Wow I think I would just stare at the customer Blankly.
Sounds like he just needs to Lan-Fax. Sending an Email to an MFP and wanting it to fax based off whats in the subject like a Fax #
Maybe some JAVA SDK programmers and licensers with Ricoh could make that happen.
You should tell your customer that it can be done. It will cost him $50,000.00 a year. Just hire someone to sit at the machine, when a email to the mfp prints out the $50,000.00 man (nikename 50Gman) take the paper and sticks it in the DF and dial the fax #. Or just use the lan-fax driver.
The customer can even send and email to 50Gman to get him coffee, the mfp prints the email, and 50Gman gets the coffee and pours it in the DF and uses scan to email to email it back to the customer. Only question, which flavor does he prefer, Tiff or PDF.
Ok,ok,ok....
I knew that this was strange or impossible, but customer is our "bread" and It worth a "post on copytechnet".
Thanks a lot guys.
Vincenzo

As Vulkor and Froota have said, download the Lan-fax driver from Ricoh.com. It installs just like any other printer driver. It will allow your customer to print to the fax line from any application, including his Email application - no IP fax needed. It's available from Ricoh.com.
Once it's installed by you he can simply select File, then Print, then select the Lan-fax printer. Again, this will work from any application. He will have to type in the destination phone number into the driver. The Lan-fax driver includes an integrated address book, however you should recommend that he not use the address book.
Also as an American to an Italian, I would like to say thank you for spaghetti, pizza and lasagna. The world would be so much the poorer without Italy.
P.S. that one tower in Pisa, it's still broken. You guys should really fix it.
