I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. Can't remember the type of machine. But, adding a password to the user account on the computer worked for me. Then sed web interface to configure address/destination to network share.

I had the same problem with Vista aweek ago. it turned out that there was a firmware upgrade to scan to folder for. My machine was a MPC 4500. The (Network Support) NIB firmware was updated back around march of 2008 to correct for problems with scanning to a folder on Vista. Check the TSRC for the firmware updates on the machine you are working on.
