    i had this problem with 40 copies than it was jamming, replaced the 2 motors an solenoids but kept comming back, when on the data say's duplex exit it is most of the time this sensor.

    you mean the litle cusions on the solenoid in the paperseperation unit, over the fuser? then it won't go in the duplex, had that today!

    I think the reference is to the pads on the guides themselves to reduce noise. They get too hot and melt into a sticky mess and the solenoids try to fire but can't move the guides because they are stuck.
