We have recieved the parts, Eprom and NVRAM plus a new SR3000 finisher PCB. However, apart from the copier now working fine, the finisher will not book fold.
The copier and copier browser can see the fold option but the paper will only come out straight. There is no error and the finisher will staple but will not fold.

This is the second finisher PCB we have fitted, as recommended by Ricoh.

I actually have this problem right now with one of my customers, except, nothing happened there to create this problem. After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting we found out that it was only one computer that had this problem, the others can book fold. After trying to change driver without result, we gave the issue over to their computer tech, seeing it's not our problem.

We thought about this since the customer had new HP PC's installed, but the copier will not fold even from the copier key panel.

Hi

Not sure if you're still having this fault on this machine. But I spent all of last Friday afternoon chasing a fault on a booklet maker on a mp8000. I know it's not the same machine, but it worth a shot. This machine was giving me a jam code J066, exit sensor.
In testing input and outputs, everything worked individually at the machine exit and finisher entrance. Even the motors worked fine. But every copy the paper would hit the entrance rollers of the finisher and jam. After calling backup in, and going through everything again, eventually we noticed a small piece of paper at the exit sensor to the booklet maker exit. You had to lay flat on the floor to see the bugger!

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, have you checked everything in the finisher unit. As it seems the machines get confused and don't always tell you the actual problem and throw up a random error codes?

Cheers

We connected the SR3000 to a MPC3000 which also did not fold the jobs but did recognize the finisher as Bookfold option.

Just to let you know, Ricoh have said that Russia and parts of Europe have experienced faults with this finisher and also the firmware and are checking this out.
