    AFICIO 220/1027 toner spill

Pls let me know what causes toner to spill off the 2 sides of the transfer roller (some machines 1 side) onto the white plate under the transfer roller. This happens even after 500 copies are reproduced. picture attached.

Seen machines do that for years. Maybe too much black on customers copies cause overtone add or transfer roller voltage too high. Never figured it out. It usually doesn't effect quality that I've seen.

I've noticed this on high-mileage PCU's. Switch on transfer roller cleaning in SP2xxx something. It's at the bottom of the list somewhere.
Up to my nuts in toner and loving it!

Hi.. First started noticing this anomaly when small parts of the leading right or left edge (or both edges) of the copy paper were getting stained with toner. Once the Transfer Roller and the bottom plate are cleaned it works well for about 500 sometimes 1000 copies before it happens again. Will try the suggestion mentioned by T.M and see how it works. Thanks for response.
