customer is getting very good print quality but when the customer uses either the doc feeeder or the glass then they get a faint copy. i cleaned the mirors and the optcs but only improved alittle. machine has done 100k and i dont know whens the last time its had a new pcu. could it be the pcu?
Sounds like a good starting point. At 100,000 if the machine should be on its second PCU. It's a good time to also check the fuser and replace the transfer roller with the PCU.
At 90K this machine needs maintenance. New PCU, Hot Roller, Pressure Roller, Transfer Roller, etc. Like rthonpm says : it's a good starting point to do 90k maintenance.
if problem occur only at copying then perhaps scanning is the problem... cleaning mirror's ccd, lens might help... and go for the 90K maintenance... Good Luck Sir.

fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.
All being said, yes, the drum probably needs replacement, however if prints are good then the PCU is probably not the cause of the light copies.
