Your problem could be a faulty controller, or a corrupt NVRAM ….I have had several corrupt NVRAMs with this model….

I'd go with the controller board. If you let it get up to the point it shows an SC code, you should be able to get into SP modes. There will be codes like 672, 819 etc. Might be an idea to have the NVram on standby too, good call dude.
Up to my nuts in toner and loving it!

Disconnect the hard drive first before you do anything else and reboot. I have had them fail and prevent boot up.

If i hold the "." and "#" key and switch the machine on, the machine displays a number of codes in a diagnose window.

    0200
    0100
    1400
    3000
    1500
    1600

Sorry Voltage, I must have skimmed past the part where you did state you unplugged the hdd. As stated by others, then reseat all dimms, boards and sd cards and start with replacing the controller/nvram.

No prob. Spelled hdd wrong anyway

Disconnected and reseated the hdd, dimms and the SD card, still no pulse.

Going to order nvram first, cheaper.

What if you power up the machine without nv ram in? should fall over staight away. If it still says please wait I think it's controller..... or psu ....or something else possibly.

just looked on Ricoh tech site.
