Aficio 2018d Printer/Scanner Unit Type 2018 SD Card

Hi! I would like to ask about SD Card of Aficio 2018d. I have one unit here that doesn't have an SD Card for Printer/Scanner. Can I just copy the content or firmware of the SD Card to another empty SD Card? I tried to copy it on a 4GB SD Memory Card (that's the only SD card i have now) but it gives an error of SC868. I'm still trying to look for 16mb card now so I can test it again. Thank you very much.

no, can't copy it, only order from Ricoh original. And for firmware and others use SD cards less than 1 Gb

I have the same Multifunction System Printer Ricoh Afilcio 2018 too and am looking for SD printer Scanner unit SD card. if it's possible to send me a copy of your SD card, i want try to test it too.

Having a backup of the card can help fixing things but it's indeed not possible to perform a proper 1:1 copy since the memory cards used by ricoh are somehow flagged.

If I'm remembering what one of the engineers told me, the cards are tattooed with a hidden partition that part of the boot loader for the print controller looks for in order to initialise the function.

Greetings!

I have the same problem - all hardware is in place, except SD card. I do beleive original card can be copied 1:1. Recipie is quite simple: original card' holder can use LiveCD linux and use 'dd' program to create SD card image from original. Please, original card holders, get linux LiveCD of any kind (stresslinux, systemrescuecd, opensuse, etc) burn it to blank CD, boot from it, switch original Ricoh SD card to 'read only' (that white lever placed on one side of SD card), insert it into card reader, and do 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/ricoh_SD_2018.img', and then please place that 'ricoh_SD_2018.img' file on any free fileshare service and post link here.

Creating exact copy is straightforward with that 'dd' linux tool...

It's not possible to copy this sd using dd on linux. I did it some time ago, and it didn't work. Sorry...
