Just wondered if anyone had the procedure for making the SPC811 fuser fit the MPC3500/4500? I know a connector needs to be modified/changed but don't know a lot more about it!
Its very simple, you just take connector covers off of both old unit and type 811dn fuser and compare the left most upper connector i believe ricoh mpc4500 has pin two and pin four from top. new type 811dn is set too pin one and pin four . All you do is pull connector out of main housing left upper white connector and take a razor blade pull pin release triangle shape up and pull wire attached too pin on first pin and push it into the second slot too match the older unit pin order. Its that simple. Also the transfer roller that comes with kit has plastic notch that does not line up with mpc4500 slot. just take a pair of dikes or pliers and brake notch off the 811dn transfer roller assy. hope this helped have a good day. If your interested the drum units also work if you swap tdsensors and the connector harnesses from old unit. the tdsensors have chip set programed for the models they belong too be carefull too use a tweeker when removing td sensor off the units it has double sticky tape you want too leave on the td sensors so it sticks too unit correctly.
a word of caution doing this mod by changing the wires around - if you get it wrong i believe you can end up damaging the m/c. Ive never done this mod only swapped the whole harness as its safer if you get the wires wrong. I would try it but if i screw the machine up i'll have a lot of explaining to do.
Been doing it for years no problem do a visual before plugging in. If you were too just plug in 811dn fuser without mod it tells you fuser not set. Same with drums it tells you insert drum what ever color you do not mod. Fuser is out of machine very simple pin swap my kid can do it with instruction saves whole connector time too swap out. I do suppose if put in slot 3 could do something bad. Never put in any other slot. Keep simple do a visual check before you put in copier. Old unit should match new one after mod. NO WORRIES.

Any help welcomed, cheers.
Under the connector cover, move the top blue wire down one slot.

I have pondered over this issue for a couple days. I replaced my MP C4500 with the C811DNA. When I originally put the C811 in it gave me the error to set the fuser. I then figured well I will try to switch the connector boxes. So I put the old on the new and the new on the old. The C811 with the old connector box did not work but the C4500 with the new connector box did try to work. (I say tried to work because the belt is the main issue with it). I also tried moving the wires even though they looked like they were in the same location. It still did not work. I was also told to put the machine in SP mode to 3902-14 and put it to "1" instead of "0". Any advice? The only thing I can think of is take the belt and such out of the new one and put it in the old one. Or replace all wiring?

I'm not sure what to tell you. The mod is pretty clear (pictures and all) in the pdf I provided near the beginning of this this thread.

I know., I saw them. It was very concise and informative. I printed it. I can say that my wires are in the 2 & 4 position, not the 1 & 3 as shown. I don't know if that makes a huge difference. For me the frustrating part is they wiring all looks the same. The new unit will not work and the old unit is clear of all codes but since the belt is bad it make a horrible ruckus then throws the SC 549 code.

Do you have the right fuser for your region? I think there is a 240v and 120v version.
