Most Ricohs that support Scan to folder need to have firmware updated to work with SMB 3 used in Win 8. Check TSRC for the model that you are trying to setup. Most of the newer models, it will be an update to the network support firmware dated the first part of this year, check the Firmware history. For the older models there should be a Special/Custom firmware.

D020 NCS v7.37b LRC0451 under special/custom firmware.
