Stolen direct from the FSM:
SC302 - Charge corona leakage
Definition: [level: D]
The charge power pack detects a charge corona leakage (output: 0 V) for
4.8 ms, or detects the output to be more than 7 kV, 10 times in one job.
Possible causes:
· Main charge corona unit defective
· Main charge power pack defective
· High voltage control board defective
That being said, I sometimes would have issues getting the charge wires changed and create this SC myself. Also, the best test for arcing coronas is the nose. I've had this come from a bad receptacle on the frame also. However, with freshly cleaned charge unit and new wires and grid, I would be inclined toward the High voltage control board as I had several of those fail.
Even though this old analog is nearing the end of its life, they were very good war horses and many of the issues in the earlier generations of this machine had been addressed by this version.
