Probably there is something (tiny) that blocks the paperpath, you must investigate every (little) piece for a bended mylar or something like that...
Check also the paper guides in paper trays, they should be aligned with the paper..., there may not be a gap between paper and paper guides.
Good luck.
It has got to be an obstruction of some kind in the vertical transport, guides or registration. I'm sorry but I have not seen this. I know this machine very well and I don't think that you are experiencing a typical issue.
The only advice I can give is to open the door as soon as you hear the tear and disassemble from there. Bring scrubby pads, a bright light and scissors just in case it is snagged mylar. Run paper though by hand as if the machine was operating to replicate the issue. If you cannot, it is probably a hang up on the right door.
hope my convoluted reply helps.
when you remove the reg guide, there is a mylar adhered to the back of it. i have seen that get damaged and start hooking the page as it goes by. doesn't damage it enough to jam but nicks the page all the same.
A picture of that print defect would be very helpful.
I mean worn out sep rollers can cause something similar to what you've described so far, but that could be utter nonsense in this case too, as I don't know.
Thanks!
To Mezz.:
Did you fixed it?
