    3001 WIM

I am using a static ip address and can find my printer on the network to add it as a new printer but the web image monitor will not pull up on my web browser. I know its not my browser or network. Firmware is up to date

Are there any settings i have to have set on the copier so i can access the wim? FYI I did just perform a factory reset (5-801-1). MP C3001 Thanks!

Dont know if this helps at all...SP 5-828 is set to 1

I did notice on this print out that HTTP is :down, didn't know if that had anything to do with it.

Attached the print list printout of system settingsPrint List.pdf

You have both telnet and http down.
    First turn on telnet
    SP 5828-090 set to 1

    then telnet onto the machine
(If you have never done this before download PuTTY PuTTY: a free SSH and Telnet client )
open putty choose telnet as your connection type put put the ip of your device in ( 192.168.1.200 ) and hit open.

login with the device admin username and password
    enter the following command

    set http up

then save this setting bye logging out, type logout and enter yes.

Your session should look something like this:
    Code:
    RICOH Maintenance Shell.
    User access verification.
    login:admin
    Password:
    User access verification ... OK.
    RICOH Aficio MP C305
    Network Control Service Ver. 12.30
Copyright (C) 1994-2013 Ricoh Co.,Ltd. All rights reserved.
    msh> set http up
    msh> logout
    Logout Maintenance Shell.
Do you save configuration data? (yes/no/return) > yes

If you did SP 5801-1 clear all memory, you are going to have more problems than not being able to access with WIM.

you can also check sm 5985-1 and -2. both should be set to 1 and not 0. if 5985-1 is set to 0 that is why you can't access wim. it resets to 0 if you have to nvram it or at times if you do an all clear.

    No kidding!

I sure hope you have the birth certificate handy to re-input a bazillion settings.

    Re: 3001 WIM

Thank you all so much for this advice...I should definitely be able to figure it out with all of this.

I am going to try to telnet into the machine...although you are right I have never done that before so i gotta figure that out but shouldn't be a problem and I will let you know how that goes. So that is the only way i can turn on HTTP? There is nothing in sp mode that can do that?

As for SP 5-985-1 and -2 they are both set to "1" but thank you for mentioning that.

And I am very aware of the complications that come with doing an all memory clear...there were other reasons for it and yes i have the birth certificate. I would never even consider doing that without the birth certificate, but thank you for your concern, I am fully aware that that is frowned upon.

I will let you know if i find the solution thanks!

FWIW, I have NEVER done a "factory reset" and as of now I am not currently aware of ANY "one shot" factory reset!--yes, 5801-001 WILL bork your machine settings!

When we get a "newsed"--new-used machine in, the items I check/clear are as follows!:

1-In factory service mode, execute SP5846-046 to clear and reset ALL supervisor & admin passwords (clears address book!)

    2-HDD format - SP5832-001

3-Check PnP Maker/Model and make it correspond with what you want it to be--SP5907-001

4-11x17 DLT - SP5104-001 - Gives correct meter clicks for Ledger sized paper!

5-SP5812-001 thru 003 Service Tel #, consumables, etc.

    6-Stamp data xfer - SP5853

    7-Calibrate display - 1993, C/S x 5 times

8-Turn off RC Gate Connection Error (will show up in web monitor) -Set SP5816-001 to 0

The above are the "basic" things that I do in the system. It may vary, especially if you get an off lease government machines that has the high security data overwrite. I don't mess with those!--my boss usually deals with those!

I also do the basic stuff of populating SMTP server relay info & testing scan to e-mail, folder and fax.
