red is orange

I have a Ricoh SP C242 that prints red as orange. All colors show up on the maint. page, as well as the red block. I tried a driver from another ricoh that made it worse. Ordered a new set of drums. Any help would be appreciated

On the Ricoh models I work on, usually a good ID sensor cleaning will bring back decent color. Obviously, if the drums/developers are worn they would need replaced.

Are they using genuine toner, or aftermarket?

If you are comparing the colour of a print to the colour on a monitor, you may be in for a shock if the monitor isn't properly calibrated.

Also the monitor is RGB color where as the C242 is CMYK. In addition, the monitor is emitted light and the copies are reflected light.

You may want to look at installing the ICM files for this model on any systems using it, or the print server. While not every application can benefit from them, I've seen huge differences in output from having them installed.
