CL 3000 printer color drum unit

Have not had to much experience with this printer but I have had numerous color drum units fail before their 13,000 copy life span. Usually what I see is color dropping out in stripes such as gunk building up causing the metering blade to completely wipe the toner off the DV roller. Took one unit home for S&G and took it apart. Seems as thought the DV roller is damaged because cleaning out the DV unit and recharging it does not help.

Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening?

    same here

I've yet to see one go to yield. Seems to be the same thing that we used to see with ricoh faxes. we got so tired of eating dev units that we tossed the ricoh faxes we had in the field & replaced them with canon 7 & 9 thousand series.

Both the black and the colour PCUs rarely reach yield.
I've known some to fail only a few hundred copies in.

Needless to say I don't rate this model range.
The newer Aficio SP C410/411DN are far far better machines.
