    Ricoh Printers SP4210n and SP4310n

    Hello all,

I was getting an error SC545 on my Ricoh SP4210n printer and error SC542 on my Ricoh SP4310n printer. We lost power and not sure if that was the cause of the error or not. But we purchased new fusers but error is still there is there a way to reset the fuser code? Like letting your car know the oil has been changed in your car.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

You need to enter service mode and then reset the machine.

Press OK, hold the up + down arrows for 5 seconds, then OK again.

After that I believe you have to select engine, then scroll to sp5810, then hit ok...then after that, turn power off to printer then back on..should reset both those codes. You might not have needed fusers so you can try them back in the machine to see if they were indeed bad, if not, hold onto them for later use.

Power outages can often give you false fuser codes: the issue will be that you'll get either too much or too little voltage going through the machine for a long enough time that it trips the code. More than likely, your original fusers will work without a problem after you clear the code.

These are pretty small printers...like the MP161 series, I don't think they have that SP.

But those fusers - yeah, they're most likely fine.

Yes they have a full SP Mode and yes, you need to use 5810 to reset the fusing error.
