You obviously are not a Ricoh technician as it is the same as for most other Ricoh MFPs. That said, the following key sequence:
    Clear Mode Key (Usually yellow)
    1
    0
    7
Hold the "Stop/Clear" key (Usually Orange or Red) for 3 to 6 seconds.

Copier Service Program SP 5985-002 set to 1. If it is already set to 1 then the USB port is bad and the board will need to be replaced.

The other option is to get a network switch or use a cross over cable.

HI, I press Clear key, then 1 0 [like 10 copies] and I cannot type 7. Am I doing something wrong here?

This might be stupid, but I'm still curious. Anybody else here think it might be a good idea to check whether this person has downloaded the latest drivers from Ricoh before we send them mucking about in service mode?
Sorry, I'll just shut up and go away now.

Do not worry about what is on the display. Just press the key in the correct order. If you take too long to press them all, you will have to start over.

thank you, I got in there in the maze.

It seems like the version is [1.05]
I select 3 for printer, It says printer class 1. service mode. I select ok and it says 1;001 bit switch. When I press ok, it goes to 001.001 bit switch 1--7 with some 00000 bits underneath.

I found this in the manual. 2) Select SP5-985-001 (NIC setting) and change the setting value to "1" (ON).
    3) Select SP5-985-002 (USB setting) and change the setting value to "1" (ON).

Can you direct me inside the service mode.

I originally stated Copier not printer. Depending on model and firmware level it may show as System SP.
