    E-studio 45 recovery CD

    Hi All,

I am looking for a copy of the CD(s) that would have come with an E-studio 45 with a GL-1010 Controller, particularly the recovery CD, as I think I've corrupted the boot routine by turning off the power without going through the shut-down routine. Copy/print works fine, fax works fine, but network hard button brings up display of "controller is shutting down, please wait." or occasionally, "controller is starting up, please wait." In either case nothing further happens no matter how long you wait. Everything (including network hard button) was working fine until I powered down improperly, so if anyone of you can help, I'll be happy to pay for the copies. Needles to say, we don't have any of the CDs that originally came with the copier. I even tried to get from my local Toshiba dealer, but they are new to Toshiba and say they think they can't order since the 45 is now discontinued model. Looks like this site may be my last/best hope.
    Thanks guys!

          GL1010 Recovery Disc

Your Toshiba dealer should be able to download it off the net. The Australian Dealers do. It's about 560MB so I can't email it, and I'm sorry but I cant give you the access directly to the URL. If you still can't get it contact me, and I can arrange to send you a copy, by snail mail. The Operating system has been upgraded to Linux, works like a charm and has scanning and iFax native to the system.

Thanks for the offer to help. As it happens, another Toshiba Tech on this site helped me out and turned out to be local, so got set up with a service agreement etc. and am good to go. I am very grateful that there are "good guys" like him and yourself out there who are willing to help. I love the copier, but the tech support is totally dependent on the local level and folks like you who want to help. The tech support from Toshiba USA is non-existent. Thanks for being one of the "good guys"!

                        Pages Now Available.

We moved the files to a "No Password" location while we replace our password server.

                            Differences between GL1010 and Gl1020

                            I think you meant GL1010, not GA1010.
The GL1020 is the same as the GL1010 except that the GL1020 does NOT have an ewmbedded CD ROM Drive. Toshiba offers an external CR ROM Drive connecting cable to accomplish System Recovery/New Hard DRive Partitioning. We do not use this however.

After removing the rear panel and exposing the Printer Board we disconnect the IDE cable feeding the rear panel and connect a standard IDE CD ROM Drive directly to the Printer Board. Also the power gets connected to an available power plug.

It is highly recommended that you connect a monitor to the Printer Board at the monitor port. Attempting to load the software without a monitor is a waste of time.

All instructions are in the downloads I sent.

                            Good Luck
