Samsung CLX-3175 Drum Reset

There are two possibilities for that:

1) The two levers that attach to the bottom of the front door, open the laser shutter upon closing the door. If those levers are disconnected and/or missing you'll get blank prints.

2) I've seen this when a user whose laptop is setup with Korean defaults is connected to a MFP/printer with USA defaults. Samsung does not have an "Auto A4" function that will automatically substitute letter sized paper for A4 sized paper. You just get blanks, and "Paper Mismatch" error. If you select Fit-To-Paper function in the driver, this issue is resolved.

It would have been quite comical for someone to have been watching this Korean gentleman & I trying to communicate. Lots of hand gestures and pointing. In the end, I set up my Windows XP laptop (in American English) next to his Windows XP laptop (in Korean), and after some struggling, I would show him where to click on my PC, then he would do the same on his. Back and forth like that until Fit-To-Paper was selected. This could have been a 15 minute service call if we had a common language. I guess "XP" was our common language. Funny. =^..^=

For CLX-3300 models, From what I can see, you can only reset some of the counters :-

Toner - No
Imaging Unit - No

All the others appear too work.

Both of these appear to need H/W hacks.

Your drum is probably dead. Organic photoconductors will tolerate soft cotton or cotton pad and alcohol, and light washing, but tissue paper ... no. Also they are light sensitive. How long was it in room light? Preferably 20 minutes or less? The drum coating can light shock, giving you large blank areas. =^..^=

Based on those image quality samples that you provided?

Just shop around. Buying from Samsung is usually the least costly choice. =^..^=

Hi, I had a similar issue:
Some ghost images and colored veil (when I changed the waste toner cartridge). Then I cleaned the drum with tissue paper and iso Prop, if I recall right???, but it did not help but not hurt either ! Subsequently I cleaned the transferbelt, because it had some of the color veils although its lifespan should have been o.k. for another thousand prints. It improved the print a little bit so I repeated the procedure, but ended up with print out*s that just had the black structure but most of the colored image was not printed i.e only black toner was transfered but not the 3 colors anymore on most of the paper areas. The belt is shiny and clean but maybe I rubbed away a surface treatment or plasma activation ? I desperately tried to clean the belt with cleaning benzine but it did not help. Yesterday I installed a new transfer belt kit JC9604840C with the plastic belt looking dull and this solved the issue.....

I have a brand new Samsung CLX-3175FN which is used for 350 odd pages as per count from Menu. But I made a mistake of cleaning the drum using tissue paper as there was dust inside the printer.
Later I started getting smudges and lines on printouts. So I cleaned the drum using iso-propyl alcohol. Now the print comes blank.
I want to know if drum is dead or there is a way to make it work again.
Pl advice asap.

you used to unclip a small unit on samsung/xerox drums ,solder a new fuse on.fuse blows and reset drum warning light on lcd.
