Thumbs up SCX-6200fx " over heat error cycle power" message

Replaced fuser and get same message. Is this a common issue on similar Samsung models like clx6200series. Is this more likely a power supply problem? Customer says he can make copies but not print. machine goes into read then displays message. I have SM for CLX-6200 which uses some of same parts including fuser unit. I don't have parts in stock and don't want to order anything else expensive without getting advice first Any help is greatly appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

I hav'nt had this be a common problem with clx-62xx models. Normally the fuser would fix this. Make sure the firmware is current as Samsung does alot of firmware changes. DId you try a full memory clear?? this seems to fix random wierd things on the sammy's.

Thank you.I didn't do a memory clear as I am always reluctant to do that. Maybe i should have. I have minimal experience on these Samsungs and I am really ignorant when it comes to things like updating firmware. Not aware of how to do it. Will check manual. Frank

What do you mean by make copies but not print? If you had a overheat error, it shouldn't let you print either. Maybe they can scan, but not print/copy???

The customer stated that he could make copies and scan but could not print a job from computer. The machine goes into ready and shortly thereafter shows message "overheat error. Cycle power". I tried changing fuser but got same message. I cleared memory but still same message. I am thinking it may be bad power supply. Frank

If it can make a copy, then the machine must be mechanically fine. Whether the machine is copying or printing, it is the same process. That means the problem must be between the computer and the main board (which is also the engine controller). Try installing another computer directly to it, or replace the main board.

Have the customer turn off "Enable Bi-directional Support" to see if he can print.

I happen to agree with this philosophy. I rarely fixes anything, and often creates additional problems ... like defaulting the display language to Portuguese. At least it's a problem for me.

The power supply is another possible cause for fuser errors. Personally, I think that the customers observations are incorrect. Printing and copying should produce the exact same error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think that the customer was saying that although there is an error message he is still able to make copies but the machine will not print from computer while in error condition. I did not test by making copy but just assumed what he said was true. Frank
