    scx-6345 low toner

I tried two new toners and the indicator does not clear. I powered the the toner disperse motor in tech mode and it sounded good. I did hear some noise for a brief period at one point. The drum is OEM and has 87% life left on it. The toner/drum connection looks OK. Has anyone had this? I hesitate to try another new IU because they are included with Maint. contract.
    Thanks in advance.

Do you mean that thin piece which reads the toner in the back of machine?

It's possible that the MEA unit-gear supply is broken.
iT's on the main drive unit.

OK. Feel dumb on this one. However, very uncommon problem. Customer buys OEM toners from me. Machine called for toner and they put a new toner in. Machine then said low toner with the new toner. i went out and the toner was full. I opened the other new toner and put it in. Same low toner condition. I thought, what's the likely hood of two bad new toners?
I tried the crum, main pwb, drive unit and new imaging unit. same problem. i tried another new toner and it worked! The manufacturer will not reimburse for bad toners and forget my hours lost. At least it's working. Thanks for the input everyone!

Make sure you haven't installed a 6555 0r 6545 toner cartridge. It will fit but will still ask for toner. Read the sticker on the cartridge. Or toner drive coupling on main drive unit is broken. Have changed about a dozen. JC97-02681A...MEA Unit-Gear Supply its called

Turn the non working cartridge over......slide the silver toner cover open and push the spring loaded "finger" that allows you to rotate the green toner lock lever.....now you should be able to see the chute the toner comes out .....if it isn't open fully[you will see the foam seal],pry it fully open, work it back and forth til it opens fully.....Just had this recently....new toner solved it and I discovered this at a closer look at the cartridge at the office HTH

I had a 9352 showing incompatable black toner carts..did this for 3 toner carts. It ended up being the main pwb... after replacing the main pwb the old toners wouldn't work in it or any other machines. Whatever the main pwb was doing was destroying the toner carts. It does suck that you have to use two toner carts to find this out(in our case 3) They should reimburse you for it.
